Heart Disease is Present and Treatable Years Before a Heart Attack or Death
A Coronary CT Angiogram is the only noninvasive way to see the potentially vulnerable noncalcified plaque that can cause Heart Attacks and Death
The recent LOCATE study illustrates more lipid lowering medications (statins and PCSK9 inhibitors) result in better vulnerable atherosclerotic plaque reduction in the heart. A low dose of the lipid lowering medications results in minor reduction of non-calcified (potentially vulnerable) plaque and high doses eliminate potentially vulnerable atherosclerotic plaque.
